COFER, DAVID LEE Funeral service for David Cofer, age 48, of Columbiana, was held  at 11 AM, Wednesday, November 25, 2009 at Columbiana Church of the Nazarene. Mr. Cofer, who passed away on Sunday, November 22, 2009, at a local hospital, was born on October 9, 1961, in Alabaster, AL. David is a 1980 graduate of Thompson High School. He was employed by the Shelby County Board of Education. He was active in Columbiana Dixie Youth Baseball, first as a coach and then as an umpire. He was also an umpire for the Alabama High School Athletic Association. He was also an Assistant Coach for the Shelby County High School Baseball team for several years. David was also a member of the Columbiana Church of the Nazarene. He is survived by his wife, Beverly Tidmore Cofer; sons, David Cofer, Jr., Chuck Cofer, Kyle Cofer; parents, Bud and Cynthia Cofer, Charles and Joyce Tidmore; brothers, Jimmy (Debbie) Cofer, Ray Cofer, Buddy (Pam) Cofer; sister-in-law; Susan (Gary) Crumpton; niece, Emily Cofer; nephews, Casey (Ashley) Crumpton, Nathan Crumpton, Clint Crumpton, Samuel Crumpton, Justin Cofer, Kevin Cofer, Andy Cofer and other family and friends.  Memorials can be sent to Columbiana Middle School Baseball or the Shelby County High Cross Country.

GENTRY, JEFFERY RANDALL, age 42, of Birmingham, died September 21, 2005. He graduated from Thompson High School and attended Jacksonville State. He served in the U. S. Army. Funeral Services wereheld Sunday, September 25, at 1:30 p.m. at Emmanuel Temple Holiness Church, Alabaster with burial in Elliottsville Cemetery, Alabaster. Survivors: son, Tetorian Gentry; mother, Betty Peeples; sisters, Cynthia Green and Karen Burke; brothers, Michael S. and Thomas C. Gentry, Jr. and Herman Hunter; aunts, Charity Butler, Delcia Johnson, Lucille Campbell, Mary Miller, Joann Moss and Robin Harrell; uncles, Henry, Bennie, and Wayne Miller; and a host of other relatives and friends.
